Meet the SPCA dog that drives a car (video)

You’d have to be crazy not to love this pooch. He’s so cute and brilliant as well!

The New Zealand SPCA does pre-car testing and then they take the dogs out on the road.

Check out their work with other very smart and very lovable dogs.

This very edited video is unfortunately not all that representative of dog’s capablilities. Dogs are wonderful and exactly like humans in some ways, but let’s face it, not that bright compared to us. On the other hand….I once put my three year old human nephew on my lap and he steered a non-power steering Honda up a long uphill very winding gravel driveway, requiring a lot of steering wheel spinning. I have no idea how he got it, but he did.

It’s only a matter of time before they are using MapQuest and Yelp.

I’d be glad to trade 50% of the drivers on the road for dogs.

Assuming that you could keep the annoying little yapper dogs from driving, that is.
